Oklo Stock Surges 20% on Meta’s Nuclear Power Deal
Oklo Inc. saw its stock price leap 20% following an announcement of a groundbreaking nuclear power agreement with Meta Platforms. The deal centers on a 1.2 gigawatt nuclear campus in Pike County, Ohio, designed to power Meta's data centers and AI supercluster in New Albany. Meta's prepayment for power will accelerate development of Oklo's Aurora powerhouse, which utilizes recycled nuclear waste as fuel.
Separately, Vistra Energy gained 14% after securing a Meta contract for 2,600 megawatts from existing nuclear facilities. The Oklo project timeline targets pre-construction in 2026, with first phase completion by 2030 and full capacity expected by 2034. Final approval from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission remains pending for Oklo's innovative reactor technology.
